Clementine and Bodyform partner to address sleep disruption linked to menstrual health
Free in-app hynotherapy sessions support better sleep
Mental wellness app Clementine and menstrual health brand Bodyform have announced a new partnership aimed at addressing the overlooked connection between hormonal cycles and sleep disruption. Their joint initiative includes a collection of free hypnotherapy sessions available within the Clementine app.
The collaboration responds to findings from Bodyform’s 2024 research into sleep, which revealed that four in five women+ report sleep disturbances linked to their menstrual cycle.
Common causes identified in the survey include pain, anxiety, and mood changes. Despite the prevalence of these experiences, nearly half of respondents said their symptoms are not taken seriously, while one-third reported that they simply endure them without support.
The partnership is part of a broader effort by both Bodyform and Clementine to confront the menstrual health gap — a space where improvements in access to products and education have not yet been matched by progress in sleep and mental health support.
“We’re not just launching a feature, we’re pushing back on the idea that sleep loss is just part of being a woman,” said Kim Palmer, founder of Clementine.
“When you’re exhausted, everything feels harder. These sessions are here to say: we see you, and we’re not leaving your sleep, or your sanity, out of the conversation.”
The four hypnotherapy sessions, co-created with insights from both Clementine therapists and Bodyform research, are tailored to address different phases of hormonal change, from PMS to perimenopause.
The content is designed to help users fall asleep faster, manage discomfort, and regulate mood.
The sessions are now available at no cost via the Clementine app.
Growing interest in female sleep
The Essity / Clementine partnership follows on from a growing number of initiatives in the area of female sleep in recent years. Earlier this year, sleep clinic Dreem Health launched a dedicated women’s health program in recognition of female-specific sleep challenges and the link between hormonal imbalances and sleep disorders. And last year Bayer partnered with Samsung wearables for a menopause sleep study, while other wearables including Oura have built out sleep insights into their offerings.
