Flo Health has hired a Chief Marketing Officer with IPO experience as the women’s health unicorn enters its next phase of growth - adding to a leadership team with experience of scaling and operating public companies.
Flo told FutureFemHealth that the “proven scale experience plus category sensitivity” Rina Hahn brings from previous company Remitly was a “big part” of the rationale for her appointment, while saying it was “not announcing any specific IPO or public listing plans at this time.”
Rina joins as Flo broadens its product offering across more stages of women’s health, including perimenopause, and plans a number of expansion initiatives for the second half of 2026 and beyond.
She will be based in Flo’s London office and lead marketing disciplines including brand, social, influencer, paid media, user acquisition and communications, with a particular focus on reaching the 40+ demographic.
Rina spent several years at digital financial services company Remitly, joining as Director of Digital Marketing before becoming Vice President of Growth and later CMO. During her time there, she helped build and lead a 150-person global marketing organisation as the business scaled through its 2021 Nasdaq IPO.
Flo drew a direct comparison between the two businesses in announcing the hire, noting that Remitly was of a similar size and scale to Flo when Hahn joined. Remitly has since grown to more than $2 billion in annual revenue.
Asked whether Hahn’s experience scaling Remitly through its IPO was specifically relevant to the appointment, Flo pointed to the combination of skills that experience demonstrates.
“Building and scaling a Global marketing organization, as well as leading a company through an IPO, requires a rare combination of skills. It takes operational rigor, brand building, thoughtful leadership, and careful handling of sensitive subject matter,” Flo’s CEO Dmitry Gurski shared, via email.
“These are qualities we have been looking for in the right CMO hire - a role we took a lot of time and diligence to find. They are also exactly the muscles Flo needs as we expand our product experience across more stages of women’s health, and grow our Global footprint.”
“That combination - proven scale experience plus category sensitivity - was a big part of why we brought Rina on board.”
Building for Flo’s next phase
The appointment comes two years after Flo raised more than $200 million from General Atlantic in a deal that valued the business above $1 billion, making it the first European femtech unicorn.
Flo now reports 80 million monthly active users worldwide. Its latest growth push includes extending the app beyond its roots in period and cycle tracking across a wider span of women’s health, with perimenopause becoming a particular area of focus.
CEO Dmitry Gurski described Hahn in the appointment announcement as “precisely the person we need for this role and our next phase”, pointing to both her quantitative approach and experience building a trusted brand in a sensitive category.
Hahn is also not the only senior addition in recent years with experience of large and public companies. Former Match Group CEO Mandy Ginsberg joined Flo’s board in January 2025, having also previously served on the boards of public companies including Uber and Universal Music Group.
Asked whether building out a leadership team with public-company experience signals how Flo is thinking about a future listing, the company said it had no plans to announce.
“We’re not announcing any specific IPO or public listing plans at this time. Rina’s appointment reflects the continued evolution of Flo’s leadership team as we scale the business and expand our impact in women’s health,” Dmitry Gurski said.
“Our focus remains on executing our growth strategy, continuing to innovate for our users, and strengthening Flo’s position as a global leader in women’s health.”
