Future Family secures $400M financing to expand IVF financing and insurance
Making fertility treatment more accessible for families
U.S fertility financing platform Future Family has secured a $400 million forward flow financing deal with Clear Haven Capital Management. This new capital will enable Future Family to scale its services in response to the surging demand for fertility treatments such as IVF and egg freezing, which continue to be financially out of reach for many families.
The deal is timely following the launch of Future Family’s IVF insurance product, Baby or Your Money Back. This insurance offering, which guarantees a refund up to a coverage limit after two failed IVF cycles, is the first of its kind in the U.S. and reflects the company’s commitment to making fertility treatment more accessible and affordable.
The $400 million in new funding is expected to significantly increase the company’s impact, helping even more families navigate the high cost of fertility services.
Addressing the affordability crisis in fertility care
The fertility market in the U.S is experiencing strong year-over-year growth, with over 400,000 treatment cycles delivered in 2023. New clinics are being built across the country to keep pace with increasing demand, yet affordability remains a major challenge.
While a typical IVF cycle costing upwards of $20,000, many insurance policies do not cover IVF, leaving patients with limited financial options. For years, families have faced the painful choice of taking on significant debt or abandoning their dream of having children altogether.
Since its founding in 2016, Future Family has been working to address this gap. The company has already provided over $200 million in financing to more than 10,000 families, helping them cover the costs of IVF and egg freezing.
“When we started Future Family, our goal was to make fertility care easier and more accessible - not just by offering financing, but by improving the entire experience,” said Claire Tomkins, Founder of Future Family.
“This new funding helps us remove financial barriers so more women and couples can get the fertility treatments they need when they need them. From IVF financing to our new IVF insurance, we’re making fertility care more affordable, flexible, and focused on patients.”
Innovative solutions to a long-standing problem
Future Family is now the largest fertility financing network in the U.S. Through partnerships with over 600 leading IVF clinics nationwide, the company provides financial solutions that integrate fertility financing with access to top-tier care.
Mark Simmer, Managing Partner at Clear Haven Capital Management, emphasized the significance of the partnership:
“Future Family is solving one of the biggest gaps in healthcare financing, and we’re proud to continue to support their mission to make fertility financing accessible. By combining financing and insurance, Future Family is creating a new model that makes pursuing IVF more financially accessible for families.”
