New Swiss alliance aims to unite Europe’s women’s health innovators
Bridging long-standing gaps between science, policy, and investment in women’s health.
A new initiative is seeking to bridge long-standing gaps between science, policy, and investment in women’s health. The FemmeHealth Alliance (FHA), launched this week as a Swiss non-profit association (Verein), aims to build stronger connections across Europe’s women’s-health ecosystem through convenings, partnerships, and a shared research and dialogue series.
At its core, FHA intends to address a familiar challenge: while Europe has deep scientific expertise in women’s health, progress often stalls at the point of translation - from research lab to clinic, and from early-stage innovation to scalable solution.
“Europe has world-class science in women’s health, but solutions often remain stuck in silos,” said Maryann Umoren Selfe, Founder and President of FHA and a private investment banker by background.
“FHA exists to change that by creating a platform where capital, science, and policy share the same agenda.”
Emmanuelle Lecomte-Brisset, Legal Co-Founder, said the Alliance’s mission is to “accelerate progress in women’s health by fostering collaboration across sectors and ensuring that scientific advances translate into accessible, real-world solutions.”
A platform for cross-sector connection
FHA’s approach is built on dialogue and convening. The Alliance plans to host both virtual and in-person gatherings to bring together investors, corporate leaders, policymakers, clinicians, and researchers working in women’s health. Its programming will begin with a virtual briefing, The Business of Women’s Health 2025: Key Trends and Insights, on October 23.
The event - open to partners and non-members - will examine market and policy trends shaping the sector and introduce FHA’s ongoing research agenda. Membership offers access to webinars, a members-only resource library, and exclusive invitations to in-person convenings across Europe.
FHA also welcomes new partners and supporters to its coalition, with the goal of strengthening a pan-European community committed to closing the gender-health equity gap.
Collaboration on the rise
FHA’s launch comes amid a wider shift toward collaboration and community-building in women’s health.
“FemmeHealth Alliance serves as a vital bridge between innovators and investors,” said Daniel Delfosse, Vice Director of Swiss Medtech.
“By establishing a consistent forum for collaboration, it will accelerate the growth of credible women’s-health solutions across Switzerland and Europe.”
