Progyny partners with Origin and Hinge Health to add pelvic floor therapy to its health benefits platform
The employer benefits platform will partner with Origin and Hinge Health
Employer benefits platform Progyny is adding in-person and virtual pelvic floor therapy to its offering, aiming to address an area of women’s health that remains widely underdiagnosed, undertreated, and often stigmatized.
Progyny supports over 530 companies in 45+ industries with women’s health and family building benefits including fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, menopause and midlife.
One in three women experience pelvic floor disorders, with one in five requiring surgery to address them. But while pelvic health is commonly linked to postpartum care, the conditions extend far beyond birth recovery, affecting women from early adulthood through menopause and beyond.
“This is another moment when Progyny is stepping up to help women identify and seek care for basic health needs that are going undiagnosed and untreated due to lack of education, lack of care access, and lack of the right benefits coverage,” said Dr. Janet Choi, Progyny’s Chief Medical Officer.
“By enabling access to specialty trained providers and offering educational support tools through a cost effective and comprehensive benefit, we are providing impactful clinical solutions as opposed to a ‘sweep it under the rug’ approach to women’s health.”
New partnerships with Origin and Hinge Health
The company’s new offering for its members includes partnerships with Origin and Hinge Health — two digital health providers focused on musculoskeletal and pelvic floor conditions.
Through Origin, Progyny members will have access to a national network of pelvic floor physical therapists, available in-person or virtually. The care addresses a wide range of concerns including leaky bladder, painful sex, postpartum recovery, endometriosis, PCOS, and chronic pelvic pain.
“Origin has been leading the way in destigmatizing the shame that still exists around the biggest milestones in women’s lives and working to make pelvic floor therapy part of the standard of care,” said Carine Carmy, CEO and co-founder of Origin.
“Whether it’s postpartum recovery or painful sex in menopause, our goal is to make personalized, whole-body care accessible to women wherever they are in their health journey.”
In tandem, Hinge Health will offer digital-first support with guided, personalised exercise programmes led by pelvic health and MSK specialists. These are designed to address symptoms such as pelvic pain, loss of bladder control, and menopause-related issues.
“By combining expert clinical care and advanced technology, we are removing barriers to care access and enabling individuals to experience better health outcomes,” said Aaryn Pure, Chief Commercial Officer at Hinge Health.
“Our comprehensive pelvic health program, now offered in conjunction with Progyny, will bring their members high-quality pelvic health support as part of their broader women’s health experience.”
Pelvic floor disorders, when untreated, can lead to avoidable medical complications and significant quality of life impacts, including reduced work productivity and long-term healthcare costs. The US National Institutes of Health estimate urinary incontinence alone costs the healthcare system $20 billion annually.
Progyny says this expansion underscores its commitment to comprehensive women’s health coverage — extending from fertility and maternal health to midlife and menopause — while addressing a long-standing gap in the standard benefits landscape.
