Sweden's EsterCare integrates Ovulai to strengthen PCOS support in the workplace
Brings content and clinical expertise into EsterCare’s workplace health platform
Swedish women’s health company EsterCare is expanding its digital services by integrating Ovulai, a startup that specialises in self-care guidance for women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
The move brings Ovulai’s content and clinical expertise into EsterCare’s workplace health platform, broadening support for a condition that affects up to one in ten women but is frequently under-recognised.
Ovulai has developed a digital self-care platform that offers tailored guidance and community support for women navigating PCOS, helping them better understand their symptoms and manage daily wellbeing. Since its founding, the platform has reached thousands of users with evidence-based, empathetic care.
“We are proud of the community and product we’ve built and grateful that it will now continue to grow within EsterCare,” said Leyla, co-founder and CMO of Ovulai.
“Together, we are strengthening support for women with PCOS and contributing to a more coordinated model of care.”
Integrating expertise
For EsterCare, the integration aligns with its core focus: improving women’s health through the workplace. The company provides personalised screening, self-care tools, and direct access to digital and in-person clinics. Its model is designed to reduce sick leave while improving access to timely, relevant care.
“Our vision at EsterCare is to build a smarter, more inclusive health solution for women – one that reaches them via the workplace, which benefits both employee and employer,” said Lydia Graflund, CEO of EsterCare.
“By integrating Ovulai’s expertise in PCOS, we can provide more women with the tools they need to understand their symptoms and improve their quality of life.”
A common hormonal disorder
PCOS is one of the most common hormonal disorders affecting women of reproductive age, but it is often misunderstood or dismissed in clinical settings. The condition can cause symptoms ranging from irregular periods and acne to fertility issues and mental health challenges. Ovulai’s specialised content will now become part of EsterCare’s broader digital offer, which also includes support for menopause, hormonal health, and fertility.
EsterCare, founded in 2021, positions itself as a long-term player in the healthtech sector, with a scalable model designed for employers looking to invest in women’s health. The company provides digi-physical healthcare as well as preventative digital health services for businesses - all to increase women’s health and create an equitable society.
Ovulai and EsterCare have long shared a mission to improve women’s health through knowledge, technology, and access to appropriate care. Joining forces is described by both as a natural next step toward building a more joined-up experience for women seeking answers, support, and autonomy in managing their health.
Writing on LinkedIn, Ovulai said:
“While we believe digital guidance is powerful, we've also seen a growing need to complement it with access to integrated medical care.
”Therefore, to meet that need, we’ve made the decision to become part of EsterCare, a leading women’s health provider that shares our mission and values.”
No deal terms for the integration were disclosed.
