A new female Angel investors club, Blossom Ventures has selected supplement start-up The Better Menopause as its first investment at launch.
Blossom Ventures was created with a specific mission to engage more women in Greece in angel investing, where 90% of angel investors are men.
Blossom consolidates smaller angel investments into a single entry on a cap table, focused on scale-up ventures across Europe and the UK.
Founder Maria Koletsou said:
“Recent data reveals that female angel investors are just a tiny fraction of the investing world.
“In Greece, ventures founded solely by women currently receive no VC funding, with less than 3% securing financing across various markets.
“While the usual narrative focuses on empowering female ventures, we prefer to highlight the untapped opportunities that result from this oversight.”
Opportunities in menopause
Blossom Ventures has now invested in UK-based supplement start-up The Better Menopause, led by nutritional therapist Joanna Lyall.
Maria continued:
“Our investment in The Better Menopause is driven by several compelling factors: innovative solutions, patient-centric approach, market potential, and Jo’s visionary leadership.

The Better Menopause launched in 2023 with a single flagship probiotic, Better Gut, and has recently announced the launch of Better Night - an all-in-one formulation designed to support better mood and sleep during menopause.
Better Night was formulated by Joanna together with Dr Shahzadi Harper, Women’s health and menopause specialist. It combines adaptogens, minerals and vitamins into a single supplement solution and its clinically proven ingredients include KSM-66® Ashwagandha and Affron®.
