Wearable breast pump pioneer Willow has acquired two maternal health companies, Swehl and Momtech, as it continues its expansion beyond breast pumping into a broader maternal health platform.
The acquisitions follow Willow’s purchase of UK-based women’s health company Elvie in 2025, as it looks to bring together feeding technology, postpartum support, education and community.
Willow has also announced Carolin Archibald as CEO for the company.
“Joining Willow feels like coming home to the work that first made me passionate about healthcare,” said Carolin.
“I’ve spent much of my career at the intersection of technology and consumer health, and I also know personally how overwhelming the transition into motherhood can be – and how often women are left to piece together the products, information and support they need on their own. Willow has always stood out to me because it was the brand who first innovated and introduced wearable breastpumps to better meet mother’s needs.”
The financial terms of the two transactions were not disclosed.
Expansion and acquisition
Swehl, founded by Betsy Riley and Elizabeth Myer, provides breastfeeding education and community support. Its offering includes more than 80 educational videos, a programme connecting parents with lactation experts and community events including Hot Moms Walks.
Momtech, based in North Carolina, operates under the brand mōmi and has developed patented infant feeding technology designed to more closely replicate breastfeeding and help babies transition between breast and bottle.
Alongside the acquisitions, Willow has launched Willow World, a breastfeeding education and community hub incorporating Swehl’s existing programmes. It has also partnered with Australian company Lactamo to bring its breastfeeding support device to the US market.
Founded in 2014, Willow was an early pioneer of wearable breast pumps. Its acquisition of Elvie last year brought together two of the best-known brands in the category, while also adding Elvie’s pelvic floor health products to its portfolio.
The latest deals extend Willow’s offering beyond breast pumps into infant feeding products, education and community support.
